PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Meet Madeline, a vivacious British party girl from London on a mission to turn over a new leaf. When Madeline’s cousin invites her to spend the summer in America, she jumps at the chance for a fresh start. Little does she know, her summer in Chicago is about to become an unforgettable journey into the heart of the city’s legendary House music scene.

As Madeline steps off the plane and into the vibrant streets of Chicago, she’s immediately swept up in the pulsating rhythm of the city. The moment she hears her first bassline thumping through the speakers of an outdoor festival, Madeline knows she’s found her new home away from home.

From underground warehouse parties to rooftop rendezvous, Madeline dives heartfirst into the eclectic world of House. Along the way, she encounters a colorful cast of characters – DJs, promoters, dancers, and partygoers – each with their own unique story to tell.

But Madeline’s musical adventures are just the beginning. As she navigates the highs and lows of the Chicago nightlife scene, she discovers that there’s more to life than just partying. Through chance encounters and serendipitous moments, Madeline learns valuable lessons about friendship, love, and self-discovery.

Junie

Supporting. Female. 65-80

Junie is Madeline’s mom. She’s a freesprited wacky hippie who was very protective of Maddy, yet still gave her room to explore and find herself in life. She and Maddy are very close. She has a family catering business with her sister Lovey and her son, Dovey.

Lovey

Supporting. Female. 65-80

Lovey is Madeline’s aunt. She’s a bit more strait laced and less zany than Junie. She helped raise Maddy after her father died when she was 8 years old. She and Maddy are very close. She has a family catering business with her sister Junie and her nephew, Dovey.

Dovey

Supporting. Male. 30-40

Dovey is Madeline’s brother. He was a love child between Junie and an old friend of hers that she used to go to reggae concerts with after Maddy’s dad passed away. He and Maddy are very close but they but heads sometimes. He’s a gay man and very promiscuous. Maddy is trying to get him to be more mindful with who he dates and sleeps with. He thinks that because of their age difference (11 years) that Maddy tries to act like his mum. He has a family catering business with his mum Junie and his auntie, Lovey.
